I am inspired by my surroundings, whether it’s the sea, landscape, nature or forests around me. I am passionate about trying to capture light and shadow the way the Impressionists did, and I strive constantly to achieve this.

I was born and brought up in Chile and have been painting ever since I can remember!

My family and I moved to Australia when I was a teenager and I moved to live and work in New Zealand in 1987. I started to paint more seriously there, taking regular classes with well-known Australian and NZ tutors and artists.

In 2010 I completed a Diploma in Creative Arts at The Learning Connexion in Wellington NZ; in 2022 I qualified as a Certified Tutor with the Learn to Paint Academy in Australia.

I describe my art as Contemporary Impressionism and enjoy painting in the outdoors, especially nature, seascapes, and landscapes. I am especially inspired by the desert and seaside. I paint mostly in oils but I am also adept with watercolours, acrylics and soft pastels.

I have exhibited in several galleries and at art society shows as well as my own art exhibitions, where I have been successful in selling my works. My paintings can be found in businesses and private homes in Australia, Chile, the UK, USA, France and New Zealand.
